Hood Canal Vacation

We started out our long trip to the Canal this summer with a hike in the Olympic National Park. Josh has been studying his Olympic Peninsula hiking book for years and he finally got to use it.

Another thing Josh has been wanting to do when we were at the Canal is go to a Tacoma Rainiers game. We made it to the game, but were running late. On our walk to the game the guy in the picture below (on the jumbo screen) hit a home run. It bounced outside the park and Josh was able to run up and grab it!! He was so excited because he has never gotten a ball despite going to so many baseball games. He was like a little kid and he couldn't stop smiling and re-living the moment. It was very cute.

Josh and Joey went clamming. While Josh was busy filling the bucket with clams, Joey was busy getting very messy...

On the final two days of our trip, we had some visitors. Here are the boys gathering (at a safe distance) around the fire.

On our last day there were two eagles in the tree right outside the back yard. So cool!!
