Winter Pineapple Classic Time!!!

Hey everyone! "The West Seattle Mamas" (formerly "The Lasagnas") are participating in the Pineapple Classic again this year on November 16th. This is a super fun event that benefits a GREAT cause. It is a 5k race with obstacles that must be completed as a team. The event benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma society which helps fund blood cancer research and patient services. There is a huge luau afterwards where we plan to party down. Please consider forming a team and raising money or just donating to me and my team. Fauntleroy Creek

Who knew we had such a beautiful place to walk to practically in our own backyard!  After living in our house for more than two years we decided to walk down to Fauntleroy Park (the back side of Whiskey Woods for you ex-West Seattle/White Center teenagers).  It was so fun but we do not recommend taking a stroller.  We will be back on the next beautiful Seattle Fall day but Jojo will be in a hiking pack.

Baby Loves Disco

Erin, Becky, the kids and I went to Boo Baby Boo, a Baby Loves Disco event, at a dance club in Pioneer Square today.  It was so much fun!  Joey loved the music and dancing.  All the kids looked great in their costumes.  It was quite the event.

Warning:  The video sound is really loud and scratchy so you might want to turn your speakers down before viewing.  The sound was not that loud and annoying at the actual club.

Proof Joey Can Walk

Even though he likes to pretend like he can't, here is proof that Joey totally can walk and just needs to trust himself.

Saturday Stroll

We went for a nice long walk through the neighborhood with the
Marianis on Saturday. It was a beautiful day. Silas and Joey loved
it. We walked down through Lincoln Park and on the way back up the
GIANT hill we stopped at the delicious Fauntleroy Bakery for a photo
opp.

Our new web gallery

The Snyders have joined the world of the Mac. We now have a Mac web gallery, which we will probably keep more up to date than our blog and we can fill up with tons of pictures. So if you want more JoJo... check out

Joey's First Day of School

Today was Joey's first day of School.  He was really nervous when he woke up this morning and had a lot of trouble deciding on what to wear.   But he was able to pull himself together and get to school (almost on time).  His first day was a total success.  When we first arrived it was playtime. JoJo played with a little Dora and playhouse.  He mainly played on his own, but did great when other kids came over to meet him and play along side him.  Also during this time, Nancy his OT found him the perfect chair and attachments so that he would sit up straight and his feet could sit flat on the floor.  The chair is now marked Joseph and will have his picture on it the next time he goes to school.  After playtime was a half hour of music time where the kids push their chairs to a certain area of the room and sit in a semi-circle while the parents are scattered around behind them.  Josh and I sat on a little bench a ways back from Joey.  His OT was right behind him.  The teacher told us it was fine if joey got restless and couldn't make it through the full half hour, but we were not worried.  Joey of course LOVED IT... he sat there like an angel for 30 MINUTES totally enthralled with what the teacher and other kids were doing.  He did look back at us a couple of times to make sure we were nearby, but did not want to leave his chair.  It was awesome and I must admit I got a little teary-eyed watching him.  After music time was a half hour of gym time where he got to run all over (with a little push cart) and throw giant balls around.  Then it was snack time, more play time, and then we went home.  He was asleep in the car practically before we left the school's parking lot.  I'm so proud of my little schoolboy JoJo!!
